International Student Welfare

People working with international students know there are differences in the experiences of student cohorts, from younger students, students with accompanying families, students with special needs, students balancing study and employment, and those with physical or mental health issues. How do we identify and support this diversity?

With such diversity in our student cohorts, how do we identify and deal with our own assumptions about what students need? How do we support students to develop resilience and autonomy? This workshop interrogates welfare issues, putting diversity and welfare at the centre of the discussion.

Participants will develop practical strategies to support their international students, who  therefore benefit by being supported by well-informed and empathetic professional services.
